Relax in a Chirnside Holiday Cottage, Scotland

Relax

This cosy, romantic cottage is the ideal place to stay whether for a weekend break or for a couple of weeks.

Hotels are fine if you're on a business trip and you need service to cut down time. However, if you would rather relax and stretch out in front of a log fire and enjoy a cup of cocoa, you're in need of a self catering cottage.

At Kirkgate Cottage you can sit out back in the patio watching the sunset with a bottle of wine surrounded by the Scottish Borders countryside. Take a step out front and stroll through the local kirk (hence the name, Kirkgate Cottage) and you will be presented with a beautiful panoramic view of Borders countryside. If you walk up the street you will find everything you need in Chirnside from local pubs to the post office and local co-op shop.

The area has plenty of walks, and if you should wish someone else to cook, why not visit one of the local pubs or hotels for supper.

If you have a vehicle or wish to use public transport you will find the Borders offers a lot more besides.

Any short walk around Chirnside will provide plentiful wildlife but with Chirnside being so close to the coast aswell, you will be privy to the many varieties of birds and wildlife associated with that too. Eyemouth is just ten miles away and just to the north, St.Abb's Head.

See Holiday for more on things like the Scottish Seabird Centre or visit Wildlife Scotland for more on Scottish Wildlife.

You will find plenty locally to keep you walking but just ten miles to the north is the Southern Upland Way.

The Southern Upland Way was the first official coast to coast walk and starts at Cockburnspath, also about ten miles from Chirnside.

Golf

To some, golf is a sport, to others, a chance to get away. Scotland boasts some of the greatest golf courses in the world and the borders is no exception.
