Chirnside
Chirnside is a relatively central village between the coast, the Borders, Lothian and Northumberland. This makes it an ideal location for day trips. The table below lists some popular towns and cities with their distances and expected travel times.
Within Chirnside you will also find two public houses, one at the top of the hill and one at the bottom.
There are two hotels in case you should feel the urge to dine out locally although there are many hotels in the borders that are worth exploring. Don't forget to try out one of the Eyemouth chippies like the famous Giacopazzi.
You will also find Chirnside has a police station, post office and specialist butchers.
Not much further up the street is a branch of the Royal Bank of Scotland, an ATM and a co-op mini-market.
The village also has two churches. Again, one at the bottom and one at the top. At the top, behind the bowling green is a park area with play slides and swings for children and a magical view of the cheviot hills and the Borders countryside.
